Johann Louw has signed as Middlesex's second overseas player for next season following his departure from Northamptonshire. He joins Scott Styris at Lord's after impressing John Emburey, the coach, during appearances against them.
"He's been very impressive in matches against us," Emburey told BBC Sport. "We hope he gives us the control we need. He enjoys working hard and will fit in well with the team."
Louw was released early from his Northants contract, following two seasons with the club, so he could play for the Eagles franchise in South Africa. In his time at Northants he took 169 wickets in all cricket and last summer took 44 wickets at 32 in the County Championship. In 2004 he took a Northants record 34 wickets in the National League.
