Narrow wins for Lod and Dimona C in Division 2; Schachat stars for Ra'anana 2

Ra'anana 2nd team captain Gabi Schachat enjoyed the best performance of his young career, leading his team to a comfortable 53-run win over Rishon Le'Zion in a Division 3 fixture at Hadar Yosef on Friday. Schachat scored 74* as Ra'anana totaled 201/2 in their 40 overs, and then took 5 for 28 as Rishon were dismissed for 147, of which only Sammy Benjamin (65) made a significant contribution.

In Division 2 action over the weekend, home team Dimona C scored 215 (Jacky Divekar 67*) which was a few too many for Neve Yonatan who replied with 203.

Ravi Khanna tp scored with 67* in Lod's innings of 237 against Lions Be'er Sheva in Be'er Sheva. Israel U19 leg spinner Ronen Waskar took 4 for 24 for the hosts. Despite the efforts of Samson Ashtamkar (59) and Moshe Saul (77), the home team could only manage 235, losing by 2 runs.
