That'll do nicely for Dubai Capitals as Raza carts this through long-leg for a boundary and finishes the game in style
MI Emirates vs DC, 29th Match at Dubai, ILT20, Feb 05 2023 - Match Result
DC won by 7 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)
Phew, we saw entertaining knocks from Dasun Shanaka and Sikandar Raza, they came, saw and conquered, making light work of the chase, hitting the ball all around the park with ease and finesse and ending up making well-orchestrated half-centuries. Apart from Overton - who looked unplayable with his nagging line and lengths - nobody else was spared and bled runs as the carnage continued towards the very end. The chase got a bit derailed early on as DC found themselves in a spot of bother when the dextrous spinner Zahir Khan was introduced into the attack; he took two wickets in a cluster but the partnership between seasoned campaigners from Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe guided them comfortably to the doorstep of victory. As a result of the win, Dubai Capitals are now on the fourth spot and still in contention for the playoffs while MI Emirates have already qualified for the playoffs.
Thanks for joining us, peeps. On that note, it's time for me (Rvel Zahid) and Binoy George to say goodbye
Nithin : "Fantastic again from shanaka. He always plays well against the opposition team if they have "India" in their name."
Tinura: "Loving to see self-proclaimed "Aiya and Malli" (two brothers) - Raza and Shanaka - guiding their team home together..."
Looking for the glory shot as he spears it on a length, attacking the stumps, he goes down on one knee, trying to heave it over long-on, didn't get all of it and will settle for a run
Pummelled over mid-off for a six, this was absolutely leathered, only a hit away from a win now. What a way to bring up his half-century, champion player from Zimbabwe! He was frustrated in the last over for missing out but this time he timed it to perfection
Romal: "I wonder why some big players of MI E are missing. No pollard, Bravo, Najibullah or Farooqi. They all proved themselves as match winners "
Tinura: "How costly was that missed review?"
Streaky! Length ball, width on offer, flashed hard and it goes over short third for a boundary
Asahel: "Just how different would this match be if MI Emirates had reviewed in Zahir's first over"
Slow ball, hits the hard length and he goes for the pull, almost holing out to midwicket, fielder came charging in, looking to dive but couldn't settle under the ball
Fired into the stumps, inside-edges it to the keeper
Aditya: "seems like both Dubai Capitals and Pretoria Capitals are playing simultaneously! "
Hashmatullah: "POORan is a POOR captain... be couldn't even get West Indies to qualify for T20 WC, and wouldn't be surprised if they don't for the ODI WC as well, so passive and weak captaincy for Zahir.
Darts in a bouncer, goes for the upper-cut and an indecisive call for a run
On a length wide of off, Raza was early into the pull and he is livid with himself to miss out while Zahoor has a big broad smile on his face
Searching for a yorker, flicked away to the leg side, not finding the timing he was looking for
Again goes for the bumper, it sounded like it came off the helmet and ballooned up to point, umpire sends it upstairs. There is a bit of deflection on the ultra-edge, there is a murmur but no movement when the ball goes past the bat
Banged in short and Shanaka is not going to hold back, pumps it for six over midwicket, that's a 75 meters maximum, clears his front leg and whacks it through the line
Gives him a charge and tries to belt it through midwicket, gets an inside-edge and scampers through a single
We are back from the strategic timeout. Zahoor starts his third over with a shorter length delivery, angled in from wide of off, he gets an under-edge to the keeper
Chops it away to point and fetches a run
Exquisite! Inside out chip over extra cover and clears the fence, it was picked early and panned to the rope.
Quick and fired up on the stumps, swept away with disdain to bring up a well-deserved fifty! We have seen some clean hitting from him tonight
Tossed up around middle stump, mows it down the ground, they are catching if it's a clean caught and bowl, Mousley himself doesn't look very confident but they are taking a look anyway. Ball bounce off the ground but a great effort nevertheless
Shorter, down the leg side, went for the scoop behind square, not able to execute it well as the ball kept swirling away outside leg
Quicker delivery, pegged him back and he gingerly squirts it towards off side, extremely well-bowled
Flatter, aiming the stumps, punched on the up towards mid-off
