First attempt is called a dead ball as someone walks in front of the screen as the ball is bowled, the real ball however was a touch leg side and lofted well over the midwicket for a one bounce four
Zimbabwe vs South Africa, 2nd ODI at Harare, Aug 25 2007 - Match Result
South Africa won by 8 wickets (with 65 balls remaining)
A comfortable win for South Africa who should be very happy with the batting performance in the first two matches but they will have to do a lot of work in the bowling department.
Zimbabwe will take some plus points to bed tonight, the batting showed a marked improvement especially the running between the wickets and the rotating of the strike in the latter part of the innings.
So South Africa win the series as we head for the third and final match tomorrow at the same venue, please do join us then.
And before we do go, we wish Loots Bosman a good and speedy recovery.
another slower ball, de Villiers not in the mood to lose his wicket, solid defence
again the slower ball, out the back of the hand, defends to the off
just on the off, slower ball, defends to the off
touch short and that is punched firmly into the covers off the back foot, nice bit of fielding at cover
just on the off, gets forward and strokes to the off
drives down the ground
oh dear Gibbs, gets the shorter ball he was waiting for, whips that to the leg side, in the air, Utseya at midwicket jumps, both hands raised, and it sticks, great catch to bring an entertaining innings to an end
looks to go over the leg side, drags that off the inside half of the bat to wide midwicket
just short of length, on the legs, stroked down the ground
full on the off, drives very well but the sweeper is back
fuller ball on the legs, drives straight, long on in to gather
touch short, gets back and pushes gently to the on side
just outside off, gets forward, opens the face and runs that just wide of deep gully who saves diving to his right
line and length, well forward, defends to the off
just short of a length outside off, cuts from the front foot, can not find the gap at gully
width outside off and again he finds his timing and that is an easy put away square on the off
thats more like it, just over pitched and a classic left handers drive past cover
full on the off, strokes the drive to the cover sweeper, Gibbs looks happy to take a not out home tonight
just short of length, gets forward defending and again the shake of the head
