Kuwait Vs Bangladesh
The match commenced at the UBL Stadium Karachi with Bangladesh winning the toss and opting to field first. With Kuwait taking a disastrous start losing 3 wickets for only 10 runs on the board Bangladesh's decision proved rewarding. Except for Dilesh Thurairatnam who was holding the crease with a confident 40, no other batsman could face the Bangladesh's bowling with courage. At 30 overs Kuwait was 67 for 4.
Unable to withstand Bangladesh's pressure Kuwait was all out for 89 in 42.4 overs. Dilesh Thurairatnam ended his defiant innings of 46 runs with the help of 6 boundaries in 115 balls. Had he been given proper stand by other batsmen, he could have helped the team to raise the score further. Ali Talib (12) was the only other batsman to reach double figures. With an excellent haul of 4 for 19 Talha Jubair was the most successful bowler.
Bangladesh made good work of Kuwait only in 19.4 overs, when its openers Mohammad Ashraful (35) and Nafees Iqbal (49) piled up 90 for no loss hoisting a 10 wickets victory for their team. Punishing the bowlers all around, both of them hit 4 boundaries each. With this remarkable victory, Bangladesh also step into the semi finals.
