Jason Bennett and Dwayne Smith shared eight wickets to bundle out Jamaica for 193 - of which 79 came from Tamar Lambert, Jamaica's captain. Barbados then scored 23 for 1. Lambert, dropped on 14, survived an early onslaught and then took charge when Jamaica were reduced to 70 for 5. He was supported by Lorenzo Ingram and Carlton Baugh, who scored 45 each. Smith claimed his best first-class figures with 4 for 45 in 20.2 overs, and caused the batsmen discomfort with his bounce. However, the prized wicket of Lambert went to Bennett, who finished with 4 for 36.
