England seek their first World Cup win over NZ in 32 years

1983 The last time England beat New Zealand in the World Cup, which was in the opening match of the 1983 edition. However, England lost their second group fixture against New Zealand in that World Cup and have ended up on the losing side in 1992, 1996 and 2007.

The seven matches they have played against England since then is the least they have played against any Test team in the last five years. At the Westpac Stadium though, New Zealand have won both the ODIs they have played against England, the last of which was played in 2008.
