Anil Sarkar, the former secretary of the Kenyan Cricket Association and chairman of the Kenya Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association, had died at the age of 67.
Sarkar had served Kenyan cricket for a long time although his final years were far from easy as the country's board became increasingly isolated.
In 1996 he became the first Kenyan to officiate in the World Cup when he stood as third umpire.
