An HKACUS introductory umpiring course will be held on 12-14 December
(three consecutive evenings) at the Hong Kong Cricket Club (Grace Suite),
from 7.30 to 9 pm.
The trainers will be Alan Swift and Anoop Gidwani. It will be Alan's final
training course before he returns to England, so make the most of the
opportunity while you can! Using video, areas to be covered include LBW, No
ball, Dead ball, Wide and the various ways of being dismissed. There will be
a test at the end of the course, and those who pass will be issued with an
HKACUS certificate. The course is free.
All teams are urged to send two representatives, one of whom will preferably
be the team captain, to this very informative and practical umpiring course.
All teams should in fact have two representatives in their Club who have
completed an HKACUS umpiring course to meet League requirements.
Applications to join the course should be made by email to: Hugh
Tyrwhitt-Drake, Hon. Sec. HKACUS at
tyrwhitt@hotmail.com.
