Sussex have announced that Andrew Hodd has been signed for the country he started at after a two-year spell with Surrey. Hodd, a wicketkeeper, will be the understudy to Matt Prior.
"Andrew is an exciting signing because of his age and undoubted ability," Mark Robinson, the county's cricket manager said. "What he has experienced at Surrey will stand him in good stead for the future years. He has come back hungry and keen to get back into hitting and catching balls. He gives us fantastic cover for Matthew as we await to see which direction his [Prior]career goes now.
"A great benefit is that Andrew is fully aware of how we work, the coaching set-up and the team ethos and it will be great to have him back wearing the Martlets once more."
