International Cricket Council (ICC) observer, former Sri Lankan cricket
captain Ranjan Madugalle, will visit Indore on January 15 to inspect
the local Nehru Stadium, according to the Madhya Pradesh Cricket
Association (MPCA) in Indore on Saturday.
The visit would be significant in view of the fact that on January 22
detailed itinerary of the Australia's proposed tour of India would be
announced, the MPCA said.
If Madugalle submits a favourable report, then Indore might get a
chance to host one of the matches to be played between India and
Australia.
Along with Madugalle, the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI)
observer Polly Umrigar too would visit Indore.
The sources said that during his last visit, Umrigar was satisfied
with the pitch conditions at the Nehru Stadium.
MPCA president Madhavrao Scindia is also arriving here tomorrow to
chair the meeting of MPCA in this regard, the sources added.
