What does the Harare tournament mean in terms of Denmark's preparation for next year's ICC Trophy?
It will play a big part in Denmark's preparations. This is a bit of a transition period and we have a few young guys who need to go through the experience of playing in a tournament like this. This tournament [Harare] is more about rebuilding and seeing how the newer players cope with pressure.
You are relatively new to captaincy. How are you finding it?
Nothing really new about it. I've played under two captains previously and the team is playing in the same spirit as in the last four years.
I understand this is a rebuilding period. What hopes to you have for Toronto?
We're a little bit of a black horse. We have a good chance of qualifying - normally we can beat Ireland, Scotland and Holland. We can improve a lot in one year. This year there are the European Cup matches as well which will be good experience.
Is it hard to balance employment needs with tournaments like these?
It can be difficult - a lot of guys in the team are still studying, so they can do it. For someone like me, the guy you work for must have an understanding of the fact that you play international cricket. However you obviously have to play in these tournaments to improve.
What players do you expect to do well in Harare?
Carsten Peders is an opening batsman who I expect a lot from. He was in New Zealand last year and he is used to playing on grass. Also off-spinner Amjad Khan who has been signed by Kent.
How are you enjoying your time in South Africa?[Morten is playing for Claremont in Cape Town's 1A League]
It's quite brilliant - a lot of wickets and a few runs. It's been good experience - the South Africans play a hard game. About midway through the season I was made captain. I like to be the captain - I find it is easy for me to lead others.
