Two changes have been made to the embattled Canterbury cricket team
for today's crucial Shell Cup match against Otago in Invercargill.
Allrounders Scott Pawson (East-Shirley) and Stephen Cunis (St Albans)
come into the side for Tim Walton and Chris Martin.
Canterbury is fifth on the Shell Cup table, two points ahead of
bottom-placed Otago. Unless it starts stringing together some
consistent performances, it is in danger of missing out on the
semi-finals.
Convener of selectors Brian McKechnie said that the side was only
selected for today's game.
It would be re-assessed before Sunday's game against Wellington at
Jade Stadium.
Teams
Canterbury: Gary Stead (c), Craig Cumming, Llorne Howell, Brad
Doody, Gareth Hopkins, Scott Pawson, Mark Priest, Hamish Barton,
Warren Wisneski, Shane Bond, Carl Anderson, Stephen Cunis.
Otago: Robbie Lawson (c), Andrew Hore, Marty Croy, Mark
Richardson, Glenn Jonas, Paul Wiseman, Shayne O'Connor, Stephen
Mather, Aaron Gale, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Lamont.
Points (with matches played in parenthesis): Northern (6) 8, Central
