International schools representatives headed by its Chairman Dr. Frank Jayasinghe met officials of Sri Lanka Cricket headed by its President Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala and the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association Representative at the SLC head quarters to discuss International Schools Cricket teams to take part in tournaments organized by the SLSCA. Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala mentioned that students in International Schools should have the opportunity to represent Junior National teams. He further said to consider junior teams to take part in the Sri Lanka Schools Junior Level, and to have a discussion with the SLSCA and the Education Ministry to come to an understanding that every child in this country be given the opportunity to play schools cricket competitions, and any child within the age group will be given the opportunity to take part in District and Provincial tournaments organized by SLC. Sri Lanka Cricket also agreed to assist International Schools on coaching programs. A committee was formed with the following personnel;
Mr. Jerome Jayaratne - Manager Development, Mr. Malcolm Perera - Manager Coaching SLC and Dr. Frank Jayasinghe - Chairman International Schools. This meeting was attended by the following Mr. Aravinda de Silva - Vice President SLC, Mr. Duleep Mendis - Director Development SLC, Mr. Bandula Warnapura - Director Cricket Operations SLC, Mr. Anura Tennekoon - Chief Executive SLC, Mr. B.S. Perera - Secretary SLSCA, Mr. Mohan Lal Grero of Lyceum, Mr. Harsha Alles of Gateway and Mr. Kingley Jayasinghe of Wychely.
