KARACHI, Aug 16: Mohsin Khan said on Sunday that he has not been
approached by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the job of junior
team coach.
"I was not contacted by the authorities. The news has come to me
through you," said the cricketer-turned-actor.
Mohsin declined to comment if he would accept the cricket board's
offer but minced no words in saying that it would be a paid one.
"Obviously, it is going to be a paid job," he remarked.
The former stylish opener said technically the authorities should
contact him. "They haven't approached me but might contact me
tomorrow.
"I don't know if I would accept the offer. The terms and conditions
of the contract have to be discussed. Until these issues are settled,
it is difficult to predict if I would accept the challenge," he
stated.
He was, however, optimistic that by Monday he would be able to reach
a decision.
He was also unclear about what constituted a junior team. "I presume
that it would be an Under-19 and A teams. But these need
clarification which I should get by Monday."
Mohsin, who was one of the candidates for the senior team coach, put
up a brave face saying he was not disappointed. "I am happy for Javed
Miandad and wish him good luck."
