Six international cricket venues to be upgraded by SLC

Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to up grade the under mentioned Cricket Grounds, increase the match fees, Coach fees and special awards payments for players in the local cricket tournaments.
Development of Infrastructure facilities Sprinkler Irrigation Systems
Sri Lanka Cricket has identified six venues used for international matches namely, P Sarawanamuttu Stadium, NCC, CCC, Moors, Colts & Police Park to provide complete Sprinkler Irrigation system. This system will include pop -up sprinklers, a deep well and storage facility to store 40,000 gallons of water. Constructions of this will commence by Wednesday 04th October 2006 and will be completed in time for the Premier Division I matches 2006/2007, which is scheduled to take off by the 3rd week of November.
Three other grounds Panadura SC, Moratuwa Stadium & FTZ Grounds will also be provided with the same facility, as soon as ownership/lease agreements are finalized.
Center Practice Turf Pitches
The nine clubs mentioned above and three other clubs, BRC, Panadura & Bloomfield will receive Center Practice Turf Pitches (2/4 No's) at a cost of Rs. 125,000/- each at the end of the Premier Division I tournament 2006/2007.
Increase in Match Payments for players & Match Fees for teams
A substantial increase is being provided for the players in 'Tier A' of the Premier Division - I tournament.
- 11 players to receive of Rs. 3,000/- per match day per player. (a player to receive a minimum of Rs. 125,000 this season.)
(Last year a player received approx. Rs. 40,000 for the season)
Match Fees
Each team in 'Tier A' of the Premier Division - I will receive Rs.25, 000/= per day,
(Last year it was approx. Rs. 18,333/= per day)
A reasonable increase is given to Players, Teams & Clubs participating in some of the other tournaments 2006/07 of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Coach's fee
A full time coach who is registered with teams in 'Tier - A' of Premier Division I tournament will receive Rs. 40,000/- X 9 months = Rs. 360,000/-

Special Awards
The champions of the Premier Division I 'Tier A' League tournament to receive Rs. 1 million.
(Same as last year)
Runners Up to receive Rs. 750,000/-
(Same as last year)
3rd Place - Rs. 300,000/- (New Award)
4th Place - Rs. 200,000/- (New Award)
Man of the Tournament
To receive a brand new Suzuki Swift vehicle for the value of Rs. 1.86 million.( Approx.)
(New Award - Last year it was Rs. 25,000/-)
Best Batsman Of the tournament
To receive Rs. 100,000/- (Last year it was Rs. 25,000/-)
Best Bowler of the tournament
To receive Rs 100,000/- (Last year it was Rs. 25,000/-)
At the end of each 'Tier - A' league match in the tournament, 'a man of the match' will be selected & will receive Rs. 5,000/- each.
Kookaburra - 'Regulation' balls will be used for all matches of 'Tier - A'
Grounds-man/Curator of the year - (New Award)
The best grounds-man /curator of the year based on the match reports of match referees, umpires, captains and the curators of Sri Lanka Cricket.
The winner to receive Rs. 100,000/- + a set of clothing
2nd will receive Rs. 75,000/-
3rd will receive Rs. 50,000/-
Twenty/20 Tournament Awards
Winning Team will receive Rs. 350,000/- (Last year it was Rs. 250,000/-)
Runner Up Team will receive Rs. 200,000/-(Last year it was Rs. 150,000/-)
3rd Team will receive Rs. 75,000/- (New Award)
4th Team will receive Rs. 75,000/- (New Award)
Man of the Tournament will receive Rs. 35,000/-(Last year it was Rs. 25,000/-)
Best Batsman of the tournament will receive Rs. 25,000/-(same as last year)
Best Bowler of the tournament will receive Rs. 25,000/- (same as last year)
Man of the Final will receive Rs. 15,000/-(Last year it was Rs. 25,000/-)
