Arch rivals SSC and NCC have qualified for the Segment `A'
semi-finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board's under 24
tournament, while the other two places remain open.
NCC with 77.0 points are already through from Group `A'.
However, the runner-up position from this group - who will also
qualify for the last four, has turned out to be a three-cornered
contest amongst Colts, Antonians and Singha SC.
SSC head Group `B' with 38.0 points, but the runner-up position
will be decided this weekend when CCC (30.5 points) take on
Panadura SC at Panadura. Bloomfield, who have completed all
their matches, are currently lying second with 34.5 points.
In Segment `B', the semi-finalists are: Group `A' : Wennappuwa
(74.0 points), Group `B' : Galle CC (55.5), Group `C' : Kalutara
PCC (67.5), Group `D' : Old Dharmapalians (55.5).
The semi-finals of both segments will be worked off on October
18 and 19 with the finals scheduled for October 25 and 26.
All the clubs who have qualified for the semi-finals from both
segments, are requested to meet the tournament committee on
October 14 at the Cricket Board headquarters at 5.30 p.m.
