A reasonably early start to the day for the team with the bus departing for Oamaru at 9am. We had a quick promotional stop on the way through Ashburton before arriving in Oamaru at 1pm.
Initially things got off to a quiet start with "Bad Jelly the Witch" the chosen CD for the first half hour. Rollsy (Rebecca Rolls) quickly got into gear with something a little more upbeat and it was not long before the team was keen for a sing.
After a series of breathing exercises and scales (led by myself) we were in spectacular form, changing a few lyrics here and there to make them, shall we say, more cricket specific.
The afternoon was spent training at King George Park before returning to our accommodation to get organised for dinner. Several players ventured out while Room 16 put on a spectacular meal of new potatoes, minted baby peas, salad and pan-fried sole fillets in a parmesan crust - very nice indeed.
We have a couple of training sessions scheduled tomorrow before our first one-day encounter with England on Sunday.
