Victoria name squad for Pura Cup opener

Jonathan Moss will captain the Victorian side in their opening game of the Pura Cup. Victoria, the reigning champions, were scheduled to take on South Australia at the Adelaide Oval, beginning on October 16.

Gerard Denton will mostly make his debut for Victoria in the game, after moving from Tasmania at the end of last season. Peter Roach will finally get a chance to cement his place in the side as a wicketkeeper, after a long period of apprenticeship under Darren Berry, who retired at the end of last year's victorious campaign.

Jason Arnberger, the opening batsman, has been ruled out due to a bulging disk in his back and was expected to be sidelined for around three weeks.
