full on the pads, clipped through square leg and that finishes things off for New Zealand as they complete a comfortable win
New Zealand vs Pakistan, 4th Match at Christchurch, T20I Tri-Series, Oct 11 2022 - Ball by Ball Commentary
New Zealand won by 9 wickets (with 23 balls remaining)
Right. So with that result, both Pakistan and New Zealand have two wins from three games each. Bangladesh are still bottom of the table but have a chance to get on board tomorrow. That's all from us today. Do join us for New Zealand vs Bangladesh tomorrow. Thanks for joining us. This is Ankur signing off on behalf of Deiva and Chandan.
Kane Williamson: An improvement from the last game. A really efficient first half. We were limited with our seam bowling options. On this sort of wicket it was about being disciplined with the lines and lengths. He (Finn Allen) has been hitting the ball well. He batted beautifully today. It's important we keep assessing the conditions. We want to keep improving every day.
Babar Azam: First innings the pitch was a bit slow, we weren't up to the mark. We have a day off tomorrow so we'll discuss our mistakes. We had a bad day with the bat, it wasn't up to the mark.
Michael Bracewell is the player of the match: Slightly different role today bowling in the Powerplay. Pretty happy with the way it came out today. Got a bit fortunate in the first over. I'm really enjoying my role in trying to provide some quality overs. If you can try and contain players like Finn Allen in the nets you are half way there. I would like to have a hit (with the bat) but the sides doing well if I'm not batting.
New Zealand have made this look incredibly easy. They've made lightwork of this chase and registered their second win of the series. The opening partnership between Finn Allen and Devon Conway snuffed the fight out of Pakistan. Allen made his second T20I fifty that included some massive hits over the fence. Conway was quieter but no less effective as he finished with an unbeaten 49. But for all practical purposes, the fate of the match was sealed in the first innings when Pakistan batted. The New Zealand spinners were miserly. They dried up boundaries and picked up key wickets through the middle. Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell and Ish Sodhi shared five wickets between them. Tim Southee gave away nothing in the death and picked up a couple of wickets as well. So a comprehensive win for the hosts and some thinking to do for Pakistan. Stay tuned for the presentation.
full outside off, he skips down the wicket and pushes it into the vacant midwicket region and they come through for a couple to level the scores
full and angling in, Williamson skips down and kicks it away as he doesn't get to the pitch
slightly short outside off, pushed to deep cover
length outside off, left alone looking for the wide but it isn't there

full outside off, driven straight to mid-off
length down the leg side, Conway misses the clip off the pads
lovely delivery, length on off, straightened off the seam as Williamson shaped to play leg side and got a leading edge down to third-man
appeal for lbw, as Naseem thinks it's pad first, but turned down. Williamson guides the length ball on off really fine down to third-man's left
length on middle and off, defended into the leg side
length outside off, he waits for it and guides it to third-man with an open face, the fielder messes it up on the boundary and allows the second with a misfield
Naseem Shah back into the attack
short on the pads, Conway looks to help it leg side but can't get enough bat on it to beat short fine-leg
length on the pads, whipped away through square leg for one
Shadab strikes! That's the end of a really entertaining innings, He skipped down the wicket and looked to launch him leg side, Shadab dropped it slightly shorter and beat him in the flight. Allen swung across it but couldn't connect as he was beaten by the turn and bounce and Rizwan completed a simple stumping
length on the pads, nudged into the leg side
just short. Tossed up googly on off, Conway pushed at it and nearly offered a return catch to Shadab
