5.50pm That's all from us today. An exciting game, with West Indies pulling off a comeback victory to end their Bangladesh hoodoo. Join us for the remaining two ODIs, with the series promising to be a very competitive one. On behalf of Karthik and Raghav, this is Abhimanyu signing off.
b>5.45pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
No prizes for guessing the player of the match. Sherfane Rutherford: "[On his purple patch] The key is to work hard on your game. I'm doing everything I can to be disciplined and give myself the best chance of performing well. [On planning his innings] At first I tried to hit the gaps, play with good intent and run well. I knew I can always make up at the end even if I start slow. [On taking body blows] It's part of the game. You take a few blows for the team. As soon as I get in I realise I can take it on. [On his partnership with Hope] It was good. He told me to take it deep. I'm looking to be consistent, and with the grace of God, hopefully I'll continue to score runs."
Shai Hope: "Just the way the guys went out there and showed we wanted to turn around that 11-game streak. We spoke about that quite a bit. [Chase] wasn't getting much turn on the pitch. We had the luxury of Justin Greaves and there was more on offer for pace. [On Rutherford] I think he's really improved his batting. We ask for consistency, we always speak about it, and he's showing that. He strikes the ball really well and the hard work is paying off in the middle. He was disappointed not to finish the game. We ask batters to put their hands up and put up big scores more often. The top three, top four need to put their hands up. We want to continue, not relax, we have to stay as consistent as possible."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz: "[On their total] Yes we were satisfied. 294 is a very good score on this kind of pitch. Credit to them, especially Hope and Rutherford. They got a partnership on this wicket. It was a tough day for our bowlers. We started really well, especially Nahid and Taskin and Tanzim, they bowled really well. But after that we didn't bowl well in the middle overs, we didn't get wickets. It can happen, but still wicket was looking good and they played well. We'll learn from so many things. We made some mistakes. We'll focus on how to get better in the next matches. We have two matches left, so I think we have a good chance."
5.35pm West Indies complete the highest successful chase at this ground - and post the highest second-innings total here as well - thanks to crucial knocks from Shai Hope and Sherfane Rutherford, to end Bangladesh's 11-game winning run against them. Bangladesh's bowlers started well and when they were choking West Indies for runs, it looked like their total of 294, built on the backs of fifties from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzid Hasan and Mahmadullah as well as Jaker Ali's 48, would be enough. But Hope and Rutherford's 99-run stand changed the momentum and Rutherford, with four consecutive fifties before this match, turned his fifth consecutive 50-plus score into his maiden ODI century. What a start he has had to his 50-over career! West Indies will be chuffed to keep up their momentum in ODIs, while Bangladesh will wonder why their bowlers couldn't finish the job while being in a strong position at one point. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony.
What a knock that was from Rutherford. He had a slow-ish start, coming in when the pressure was building on West Indies, took two blows to the helmet, but kept going and paced his innings to perfection as well, with Shai Hope playing the perfect foil. Hope himself was authoritative from the get-go, doing his best to ensure West Indies didn't slow down too much. He got close to a century too, but even his dismissal couldn't slow West Indies down. By that time, Rutherford had changed gears and batting beautifully, and Justin Greaves hit the ground running as well. That middle and lower-middle order looking really good for West Indies right now!
Gets home safely and scores are level! Greaves worked that through backward square and took off. The throw came to the keeper who is quick to deflect it to the stumps but Greaves was in safely
Bouncer around off at 144kph, Chase rises to fend it and gloves it through square leg
Russell : "Can you switch 46.1 with 46.2 hehe" Well, at least he got there with a six, one way or the other!
Beats him with a beauty. Length ball outside off that straightens past the edge as Chase pushes at it
Nahid for his ninth
Full on middle, whipped straight of deep midwicket and they race for two
Full outside off, driven out to deep cover and Chase gets off the mark
Rutherford frustrated he won't be there till the end, but surely he has ensured the win here? just seven needed off 20 now. Roston walks in to complete the chase...
Spoons a catch to short third! Rutherford walks off after playing a blinder! Walks off to a standing applause. Looked to cut this length ball angled across him, but miscued it to the fielder. He acknowledges the crowd and then walks to his team-mates, who are all up in applause
Two in a row! (Three, if you count the overthrows! This one sits up sweetly for him, and it's no trouble for him to put this away over deep square leg
This is six the proper way! In the slot and he frees his arms and wallops it down the ground! Came down the track to get to the pitch of this slower ball
Full on leg, Rutherford eases it through the vacant midwicket and they get two. Wait. Scratch that. Overthrows fetch Rutherford his maiden ODI century! Oh how he has deserved it! All the consistency he has shown, in the face of adversity, and he has his first ton. Raises his bat and helmet and lets out a huge smile. Deep backward square ran in to pick that up and had a shy at the non-striker's but misses and there's no one backing up
Yorker outside off again, jammed out on the off side for a single
This is also Greaves' best ODI score, by the way
Low full toss on off, worked down to long-on
Finds the gap between backward point and short third! Full outside off, Greaves plays at it with an open face to steer it fine on the off side and he picks up a boundary
Wide yorker, squeezed out towards point for a single
Full outside off, Rutherford is beaten on the drive
Full outside off, driven to deep mid-off for a single
33 needed from the last five. These two have racked up a 67-run partnership in 45 balls already
Full and wide, he lofts it over the infield to deep cover
Shovik: "Someone had commented about missing the x-factor with Mustafiz out. And i can't agree more. The bowling looks so one dimensional. " They are definitely missing him today
Full outside off, steers it fine to backward point's right and the throw at the striker's end misses narrowly as Greaves made his way in. He would have been safe though
Slower bouncer on leg again, and Rutherford is beaten by the lack of pace as he tries to swat it away
Slower bouncer on leg, angled across him. Rutherford doesn't offer a shot, and he probably thinks that's going to go over him, but the ball stays real low!
Full on leg, Rutherford blocks watchfully under his eyes
Stays over the wicket to Rutherford
Full outside off, Greaves reaches out and slaps it through point for a single
New bowler introduced in the 45th over! Soumya Sarkar from the Pavillion End!
Amir Javid: "WI have found a new finisher"
Over 48 • WI 295/5
