Finishes it with a six! Wide full toss gets the treatment and Livingstone caps off another second innings stroll! A second comprehensive victory in as many days - this one by seven wickets! New day, new pitch, similar result. And to think, they've seen off a chase of 159 with 31 balls to spare having lost Phil Salt - centurion in the 1st T20I - off the first ball.
West Indies vs England, 2nd T20I at Bridgetown, WI vs ENG, Nov 10 2024 - Ball by Ball Commentary
7:37pm That's all from us here. You can read Alan's report before you toddle off to bed.
We've got a longer wait for the third T20I with the players travelling to St Lucia for the final leg. Join us back here on Thursday!
7:30pm Mark: "I wanted solid, back-to-back performances and have got them. Now, can England back it up? Or will they let the West Indies back into the series in the 3rd match?" Well, Rovman Powell hopes it's the latter, of course, with talk of wanting to bounce back. The change of venue will help with the final three matches taking place in St Lucia. Winning the toss will help, too...
7:26pm Player of the match is England skipper Jos Buttler, who is sticking around for a chat
"It's great to spend some time in the middle. A bit scratchy for the first few balls but managed to come through that period..." He sure did. "I've got lots of experience and I've played for a while, batted in lots of positions. Batting at No.3 you can come in after the first ball (like today) or after the Powerplay."
[On England's Powerplay bowling] The guys have picked up those early wickets - on this ground, particularly, there seems to be an advantage bowling first, there's a bit of movement. Saqib and Jofra bowled superbly.
[On one win away from a series win] We've got to start again. We're playing against an excellent team in the West Indies who are strong at T20 wicket. They will want to come back strongly.
7:15pm Hajji49: "WI hasn't given their fans anything to smile about in these 1st two games. The batting, bowling". To be fair to the hosts, this was a rougher toss to lose than yesterday's, given how ammenable the pitch was to seam then spin in the first innings. The lights and a bit of dew flipped all that in the second half, even though England were merciless.
Shorter and slapped squarer through cover! Livingstone finishing this in a hurry now. Just 4 to get from 32...
Crunched over extra cover! Full and wide, Livingstone - standing on middle and off - strides forward and puts everything behind that drive. Nailed over the ring and beats the two fielders out in the deep
Slower ball, into the pitch, sits up outside off and allows Bethell to pull through midwicket
Yorker, just outside off, well-bowled but good running from these two as Livingstone keeps it out and immediately sets off for an easy single
Jon: "So impressive was Buttler's knock - were firmly in "We'll get 'em in singles" territory!" Shepherd to continue
Livingstone snatches at this particularly wide delivery - which would have had the umpires' arms outstretched had he not made contact - but even the loopy scuff into the off side falls into dead space, with cover and mid off set back on the fence
Full and too wide once more
Wide yorker nailed... and flies off the bat inside short third for four! Thickest of outside edges, perhaps deliberately played as it looked like Livingstone opened the face into the shot. Nothing is going West Indies' way...
Very full, and very wide...
Short, wide, pace off - off-cutter - Livingstone overstretches and can only knock the ball into the deck back to the bowler
Slight straighter, nip in, cutting Livingstone in half... and away for four byes! That late tail continued past the batter, completely doing Pooran to the keeper's left
Wide of the crease once more, this one full and across Bethell, who is happy enough with the single on offer out to deep cover
Wide of the crease, short, pulled out to deep midwicket all along the carpet
Matt : "Buttler could match Salt with a first baller and an unbeaten ton in the two games". Terrance Hinds is getting another over, this time from the Malcolm Marshall End
Full, outside off, Livingstone drives out to deep cover and will keep the strike
Shepherd into the hip, worked away off the back foot to deep midwicket
Jacob Bethell out to the middle, fresh from becoming England's youngest T20I half-centurion. Another opportunity to bring home a chase - this one far simpler with 29 needed from 44
He's gone this time! Slightly straighter, pace off again, Buttler snatches at this one down the ground where Powell steadies himself and takes the catch about 15 yards in from the boundary. No century for Jos, but a helluva knock all the same
Dropped! Another wide delivery, pace off, Buttler reaches for it and clobbers it at Rutherford, who fails to read it properly and ends up wearing it on the heel of his hands. Awful miss...
Wide, full - almost yorker-length - square driven by Livingstone to get off the mark
Liam Livingstone comes to the crease
A wicket! An actual wicket! Shepherd gets this one inside the tramlines, wide enough to allow Jacks to throw his hands through a lofted extra cover drive, straight to Forde who fumbles initially before taking the catch at the second attempt while sat on the ground
Rinse and repeat...
Tries to hide it outside off stump, gets it too wide
Romario Shepherd, come on down...
