The ICC has announced that the hearing into the allegations of racism in Zimbabwe cricket will take place in Harare between September 29 and October 1.
Goolam Vahanvati, India's solicitor-general, and Steven Majiedt, a South African high-court judge, will look into the claims made by Zimbabwe players against the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
Ehsan Mani, the ICC president, said that the ICC would contribute to the costs associated with the hearing on behalf of both the players and the ZCU. "Serious allegations have been made and it is important that these matters are properly investigated through this process," explained Mani. "The hearing will follow a written submission being provided by the players which is due by September 14. This submission will then be provided to the ZCU for its written response prior to the commencement of the hearing on September 29."
The details of the Disputes Resolution hearing into other matters raised by the players are yet to be finalised, and it has been agreed that the findings of the racism hearing will not be acted on by the ICC until after the Disputes Resolution process has been concluded.
