Simon Jones has emerged unscathed from his first match this season - and has set his sights on being fit for England's first Test in May. Ankle and knee injuries forced Jones to miss England's tour of India and Pakistan this winter but he declared himself in great shape after Glamorgan drew their three-day match with Cardiff UCCE.
He took 1 for 23 from nine overs on the third day and told reporters: "It felt good. The ball was coming out well and I was generating some pace on a slow pitch. It's given me some confidence for the C&G Trophy game at Chelmsford [on Sunday] where I'm hoping to take the new ball."
England's first Test is against Sri Lanka at Lord's and begins on May 11.
