There was a ding-dong battle at Kowloon Cricket Club where Saracens and Tartars faced off in a highly charged semi-final. Saracens batted first and have Rahul Sharma to thank for them reaching a modest 198-8 from their 35 overs. Sharma carried his bat for a total of 109 not out on a slow track offering some variable bounce. Tartars attack was led by skipper Afzaal Haider, who claimed five wickets but his ten overs went for seventy-thee runs. In reply Tartars were restricted to 178-9 with Graeme Jardine scoring 62, while Amjad Mehmood and Yarman Vachha claimed four and three wickets respectively.
The in-form Hong Kong Under-19's came unstuck against LSW Warriors when they were thrashed by seven wickets at Mission Road. Batting first, the HK Under-19's batting failed miserably as they were bundled out for only 94 as Munir Dar and jawaid Aqbal claimed three wickets apiece. Azhar Illahi hit 30 as LSW Warriors eased to a comfortable victory for the loss of only three wickets.

Lamma assured themselves a place in the 2006 HKCA Saturday Plate Final after beating MCC St George's by 44 runs at Po Kong Village Road. Batting first, Lamma accummulated decent 291-7 from their 35 overs with Jamshaid Khan (46), Toby White (89) and Ian Beck (52) all making significant contributions to the total. The MCC St George's reply was led by Dar, who scored 58 and Mustaq who finished unbeaten on 43 not out but their efforts were not enough as MCC St George's were restricted to 247-9 in their allotted overs. Darryl Bending claimed four wickets for Lamma.
Lamma's opponents in the Plate will be Kai Tak, who pulled off a thrilling two wicket victory over Nomads in a match played at the Hong Kong Cricket Club. Chris O'Sullivan, James Nelson, Toby Brown, William Fairclough and Tim Rocks all made useful contributions as Nomads posted 237-6 from their 35 overs. But Kai Tak powered to victory on the back of knocks from Brad Haskett, Mohsen Naqzi and Brett Morley to win by two wickets.
