A team's net run-rate is calculated by deducting from the average runs per over scored by that team throughout the competition, the average runs per over scored against the team throughout the competition.
In the event of a team being bowled out in less than its full quota of overs, the calculation of its net run-rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which it would have been entitled and not the number of overs in which the team was dismissed.
For example, in the preliminaries, Barbados, in their three matches, scored 598 runs off 136 overs. Therefore, their average runs per over scored was 4.39.
They conceded 527 runs in dismissing their opposition. Therefore, the average runs scored against them was 3.51. Therefore, Barbados' net run-rate (4.39 minus 3.51) was 0.88.
