Tall scoring resulted in a tame draw in the two-day President's College vs Raddoluwa MV inter-school cricket match at Rajagiriya on Friday.

The rain-affected Ananda-St. Benedict's inter-school cricket encounter ended in draw at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Ananda who were 279 for 8 overnight terminated their innings when play began around 11 am yesterday due to overnight rain.

The Bens helped by some sound batting by their top order Chinthaka Perera (25), Joel Saverimuttupulle (29), Suranga Fernando (41) and Jeremy Saverimuttupulle (38 n.o) batted till the 8th mandatory over and declared their innings.

Ananda 279 for 8 declared (Lakshan Fernando 60, Lahiru Chaturanga 69, Muthumudalige Pushpakumara 44, Malsha Fernando 6 for 56) and 2 for no loss.

St. Benedict's 212 for 9 declared (Chinthaka Perera 25, Joel Saverimutthupulle 29, C. Devabandu 35, Suranga Fernando 41, Jeremy Saverimutthupulle 38 n.o, J. Priyantha 21, Sanjaya Bandara 2 for 21, M. Pushpakumara 3 for 58).

Rain severely curtailed play in the Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school cricket match between St. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia and Trinity College which ended in a 'no decision' at the Asgiriya Stadium yesterday. On the first day only 180 minutes play was possible and on the second day 240 minutes.

S. Thomas': 128 for 8 declared. (A. Perera 25, H. Caldera 25, G. Fernando 48, L. Fernando 10, R. Gamage 3 for 27, K. Weeraratne 2 for 33).

Trinity: 113 for 5 at close (A. Imbuldeniya 35, R. Gamage 16 not out, K. Weeraratne 33, N. Ratwatte 2 for 21).

Maliyadeva College 249 for 9 decl in 80 overs (A. Samarakoon 68, A. Basnayake 60, Y. Abeygunawardena 34, S. Ranaweera 2 for 47, J. Jayakody 3 for 74, D. Jayakody 3 for 27) and 68 for 4 wickets in 20 overs (I. Dharmawardena 32, I. Hameen 18, S. I. Nanayakkara 2 for 13).

Opener Ravi Peiris hit a fluent 94 for Royal against Prince of Wales in their drawn school cricket match played at Prince of Wales Grounds, Moratuwa yesterday.

Prince of Wales: 271 for 9 declared.

Royal: 83 for 1 overnight 307 for 8 declared (T. Amarasuriya 53, R. Peiris 94, H. Rajakaruna 53 n.o., R. Jayasuriya 20, A. Perera 20, A. Kariyakarawana 15, M. Bandara 2 for 36).

Moratu Vidyalaya scored 157 for 3 in reply to Gurukula Vidyalaya 127 on the first day of their school cricket encounter played at Moratuwa yesterday.

The feature of yesterday's play was the 118 runs stand for the 3rd wicket between W. Perera 44 n.o. and O. Warnapura 76 for Moratu Vidyalaya. The match will be continued today at 9.30 a.m.
