Sri Lanka Women's CA under SLC umbrella

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is pleased to confirm that the Women's Cricket Association (WCA) now comes under the purview of SLC. Although WCA would function as separate Association conducting their own activities, ICC funding would be channeled through and be accountable to SLC.

The standard of women's Cricket is presently not at a satisfactory level. All encouragement will be given to raise the standard. Both SLC and WCA would jointly undertake to develop the game and the areas that would receive immediate attention are:

01. Introduce a structure and promote the game in girls' schools.
02. Improve the standards and increase the number of clubs playing Inter Club Cricket.
03. Improve the infrastructure facilities at schools and clubs
04. Provide proper coaching and training to raise the standards at all levels
