The last weekend of the preliminary round of the under 23 tournament saw
only 25.4 overs bowled between Matara S.C. and Kurunegala Y.C.C. due to
rain, in which Kurunegala S.C.C. managed 56 runs for the loss of 2 wickets
in only 26.4 overs. All the other games were washed out.
Eight teams managed to qualify for the quarterfinals, with CCC ending up
with most points (39.175), followed by Pandaura S.C. (31.765) and S.C.C.
(30.985). The other teams that qualified are Sebastanites (28.35),
Kurunegala Y.C.C. (21.765), Moors S.C. (19.46) N.C.C. (18.615) and finally
Antonians (18.135).
