An important seventh-wicket partnership between veteran Winston Reid
and Anderson Sealy thwarted BNB St. Catherine's effort of taking first
innings lead over front-runners Banks at Bayfield yesterday. When rain
ended play in the only Division 1 match in which there was play, Banks
were 165 for eight in reply to St. Catherine's 178.
Reid, with an aggressive 49, and Sealy, a patient 25, came together
with Banks struggling on 61 for six.
They took the score to 132 before both fell in successive overs after
the tea interval.
A lifting delivery from the persistent Victor Skeete induced Reid to
edge a catch to wicket-keeper Patrick Browne.
Carlos Nicholls (16) and Gregory Alleyne (nine) then put on 29 in an
unfinished ninth-wicket stand.
