Western Province cricketers will be hoping to repeat Fridays performance against Boland when they participate in Sundays Supersport Challenge at Kingsmead.
After last seasons poor performance MTN WP bounced back on Friday and will be looking to repeat that performance against the Dolphins in the second game at Kingsmead starting at 13h15. The new Supersport innovation will see the Titans taking on the Jumbos at 09h00. Several new innovations are planned and for the first time the "mat" will be used for LBW decisions. Each innings is limited to 25 overs.
MTN WP completed a net session at Kingsmead this afternoon. Selection news is that Allan Dawson ('flu) did travel to Durban. Neil Johnson returns to the Province team after missing Fridays encounter due to a family bereavement. He is likely bat at number four with Gary Kirsten and Herschelle Gibbs opening the innings. Ashwell Prince is expected to carry the drinks for the first match.
The Dolphins will take the field without Jonty Rhodes currently nursing a minor leg injury. The final is at 18h00 with Mnet and Supersport providing live coverage throughout the day. One of the prizes on offer is an all expenses trip to Maurituis for the winning team.
