Younis Khan, Pakistan's vice-captain, is to replace Stephen Fleming as Nottinghamshire's overseas player. Fleming, who has been captaining Nottinghamshire this season, is due to lead New Zealand's controversial tour to Zimbabwe in August.
Despite Younis's international experience, he has yet to play county cricket and is clearly relishing the prospect of five weeks in England. "It's like a dream come true to play for an English county," he said. "I hope that it would benefit me to improve under English conditions as Pakistan will tour England next year."
Nottinghamshire are currently placed fifth in Division One of the County Championship, but they have a game in hand on the four teams above them, including the leaders, Kent.
