Sussex Sharks' hopes of extending their lead at the top of the South Group were dashed after the Friends Life t20 game against Kent Spitfires was abandoned at Hove. Persistent rain for much of the day made the decision for umpires Nigel Llong and Neil Bainton a formality and the game was called off at 7pm, both sides taking one point.
The Sharks are still well placed to reach the quarter-finals, having won five of their seven games so far while Kent will be hoping to maintain the momentum that had brought them two successive wins when they play their next game against Middlesex at Uxbridge on June 24.
