and it is a fairytale finish for Shakib, and Bangladesh, as he not only gets to his fifty with a slice over third man, but also secures Bangladesh's highest World Cup run-chase as well
Scotland vs Bangladesh, 27th Match, Pool A at Nelson, Mar 05 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Bangladesh won by 6 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)
7.05 pm: Kyle Coetzer's magnificent 156 proves in vain as Bangladesh complete a rather comfortable chase in the end. The 139-run stand between Mahmudullah and Tamim was instrumental, with additional fifties from Mushfiqur and Shakib ensuring they completed their biggest ODI run chase. They now hold fourth position in the points table with four points, with their match-up against England to be viewed with keen interest as both sides battle for a quarter-final spot. Scotland, who certainly deserve some points for effort, remain winless. We hope you enjoyed our coverage today of this fascinating encounter between Bangladesh and Scotland. Don't forget to check out Match Point, which should be broadcasting live at this very moment. Till the next match, this is Rohan Sharma signing off on behalf of ESPNcricinfo. Good night and good luck!
Mashrafe Mortaza, Bangladesh captain: The boys have done really well, especially the batsmen. Tamim was outstanding, along with Shakib and Mushfiqur. Still our bowlers did not bowl well, but our batsmen got runs, especially with a big match (against England) coming up. (Twitter question for the winning captain - How will you tackle England?) we will try our best to do well in our batting, bowling and fielding. We will try our best against England, and if not them, then New Zealand definitely.
Preston Mommsen, Scotland captain: It was brilliant to see Kyle Coetzer at his best. We're okay, we had time off after the Afghanistan game, the boys got away, we came back refreshed, we were up for today and that showed in the first half. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. Throughout the four games we showed that we were able to play good cricket. We just have to play good cricket over a long time.
Don't go anywhere yet folks as we are expecting more quotes from the match presentation!
Kyle Coetzer, Man of the Match: Not the way we would have liked to end the game. We just weren't able to create enough pressure in the end. We would have taken that score at the start of the day, but we just didn't create the pressure in the second innings. There were a couple of runout chances, but they did bat well in the end. It is nice to get a few runs, but at the end of the day it is the end result, so it is disappointing. I thought 330 would have been good, but I felt the batsmen at the other end were also scoring, so I felt I didn't have to do anything rash. It is a tough loss to take. The guys will be a bit distraught as we worked so hard and feel we do deserve that one win in the tournament.
6.50 pm: Bangladesh have managed to get over the line as they mow down this significant chase of 319. They have achieved two unique feats here, the first being that this is their highest successful run-chase in an ODI, and the fact that this is the second-highest run-chase ever completed by a World Cup side, after Ireland's stunning victory over England in Bangalore in 2011.
VASANTH S: "England Vs Bangaladesh will be crucial match..."
short of a length as this is handled with comfort by the batsman, who looks to be giving Shakib a chance to get to his fifty as he is allowed the strike for the next over
gets nice and low as he blocks out this fuller one outside of off

this time hooks the bowler down to long leg as they are kept to just the one
almost halves the chase as he unleashes a drive through the covers which finds its way to the boundary rope. Bangladesh just a bludgeon away now

full delivery on the toes which is clipped down to long on as they are able to steal two runs in the process before the throw
digs out this fuller one to set off for a quick single, which the pair are able to complete quite comfortably in the end
too full and Shakib is able to unearth another vital boundary straight back past the bowler, as his blow beats the dive from long on to the boundary
now tries to reach out to this attempted yorker on the blockhole, but is late on the ball
looking to flick this fuller one past backward square, but finds him right away
picks up a run through extra-cover to get Shakib on strike
steers away this fuller one to long on to end a successful over for Bangladesh
waits on this slow yorker before angling the bat to get this away through third man. Also brings up the Bangladesh 300. This is their first instance at a World Cup game.

Bob: "Sadly, Scotland don't have a Mitchell Starc to call upon in this situation."
