That wraps up our IPL coverage for today. Only one game tomorrow, and don't forget to log in for the fun then. On behalf of the Cricinfo army, this is Nitin Sundar signing off. Cheers and take care!

Right then, that was a pretty good game of T20 cricket. The quality of fielding has been a worry at times, but this game was top-drawer. Mumbai look a complete package, and are winning despite carrying a couple of passengers in their team. Chennai, as they have in each of the past three seasons, are running into a mid-season rut and need to find a way out. They have done it each time in the past. Should be fun to see how they go on.

Presentations:

Man of the Match goes, deservedly, to Harbhajan: "Glad things worked out today. We played really good cricket and fielder brilliantly. We played better cricket that Chennai over-all. In T20, you either get wickets or go for a lot of runs. Things went my way today, getting Raina out initially was important, and later we focused on getting the required rate up. The wicket that got Anirudha was lucky, but over-all I was quite relaxed, and that helped me think better and execute well." Boy, what Zen quotes these!

Tendulkar: "Unbelievable fielding. Brillant catches. Superb ground-fielding. We were may be 10-15 runs short. Rohit thought 160 was defendable. He batted brilliantly. The plan when Malinga came back to Hussey was to bowl a bouncer. We had to get Hussey out to win the game, and the Malinga-Pollard combination was fabulous. I thought the fielders created opportunities today."

Dhoni: "I think 160 was very gettable, it was a really nice wicket. I think the difference was in the fielding. They took 2 really good catches, while we backed out of two catches. Happy with our performance, but fielding could have been just a little better. Our bowling in the last few overs were really well. We did not have enough part-timers today, so that was a gamble that did not work - still great work from the bowlers - Albie first and Dougie in the end."

Jaymin: "Last World Cup Winners - Men in Yellow; Last IPL Winners - Men in Yellow; This World Cup Winners - Men in Blue; This IPL Winners? - You do the math."

Sam D: "Heres tomorrows headline: The Turbanator sinks the Submarine" Chennai did not need a submarine... they were already under water... What they need is a rocket launcher."

Eshant: "Mumbai vada pav too hot for Chennai`s idli dosa."

This has been, arguably, the best fielding effort so far in the tournament. Mumbai's bowling wasn't always up to the mark, but they fielded like monsters and it was that pressure that dragged CSK down. They didn't help their cause with some questionable shot-selection from the tail. Badri was starved of strike, and that proved decisive. Mumbai become the first team to get eight points and lead the table. CSK languish at ninth.

Patel to Badrinath, 2 runs

Mumbai avenge their defeaat the final of IPL 2010. Short of a length on Badri's body, he pulls to deep square leg for two more. He's played a really lovely innings, and is unlucky to be on the losing side.

Patel to Badrinath, FOUR runs

oh alright. I didn't know that. Pollard can misfield after all. Surprise. Badri again hangs back in the crease and heaves over the leg side, wide of long-on. Pollard runs to his right, has it in his sights and then lets it slip through.

2
Patel to Badrinath, 2 runs

that should be that. Munaf bowls a low full toss on the pads, Badri can't get under it and plays a vicious whip to long on. Who else but Pollard is in the way. They get a couple.

19.3
6
Patel to Badrinath, SIX runs

and that's one of them. Badri, the alchemist, produces a six. He gets a length ball angling in, stands back in the crease and slugs it over deep midwicket. Ahemm.

19.2
Patel to Badrinath, no run

he's missed a slow legcutter. Full and inviting from Munaf at 114 kph, Badri looks to thump straight but it nips away at the last moment. Miss. Four sixes needed now.

Patel to Badrinath, 2 runs

manic running. Badri looks to slam a back of length ball through the off side, and hits straight to long-off. He hares back for the second and gets in the way of the throw.

25 off 6.. Badri to face. Munaf has the ball.

Malinga to Bollinger, no run

blaster! Bolly looks down tentatively to ensure his legs haven't disappeared. Malinga sends down a ripping yorker than curves in and thuds low on the legs. Was sliding down the leg side and Bolly survives. He will be happy to have a nice set of pads.

Harish: "Submarine docked at one end watching other ships sink."

Bollinger walks out to the cauldron. Can CSK take it to the last over?

Pavan: "Chennai may compensate the Maiden over of MI by not playing last over of their innings. (Hope they get allout in this over)"

Malinga to Randiv, OUT

another one bites the dust. Randiv gives Sathish catching practice at point. Short and fast on off stump, no room, no nothing. Randiv guides it straight to his hands. Mumbai on the brink.

Suraj Randiv c Sathish b Malinga 2 (4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50

Badri has faced just 7 balls in the last 4 overs. It's hurting Chennai.

18.4
Malinga to Randiv, no run

again Malinga hustles a bouncer past Randiv. He goes for a swish and misses.

Rakesh: "Maybe Albie acetate needs some dhonium inspirate......whatever the hell that is..."

Malinga to Randiv, 2 runs

Randiv gets one away, full and fast well outside off, he carves it to deep point for a couple.

27 off 10 ... Slip in place.

18.2
Malinga to Randiv, no run

through him in a trice. Randiv had no clue, wandering out and looking to steer to the off side, but the short ball whizzed by. Should have played Malinga more often in the nets.

Malinga to Badrinath, 1 run

sends down the yorker, curving in and Badri can't time the straight drive at all. Single to long on

Here's Malinga.

Two runs and three wickets in the 18th over. Harbhajan, take a bow.

Ghanshyam: "Albie Acetate is fast becoming an incombustible substance... Nothing can get him to fire nowadays."

Harbhajan to Joginder Sharma, OUT

Harbhajan has five! Who said he can't get wickets? He has bowled like a champ today. Another one tossed up, inviting the loft, and Joginder's heave went no where. Top edge spirals up to the off side of the pitch, Harbhajan and Rayudu converge, Harbhajan calls and takes it.

Harbhajan to Badrinath, 1 run

this fielding is just out of the world. He was jumping and running as if he was on the moon there. Badri leaps out and looks to thump straight, and it goes on the bounce and seems set to get him four. Out of nowhere, Pollard appears, flies in front of the ball and keeps it in play. They get just one.

Joginder is the new man in.

W
Harbhajan to Ashwin, OUT

Harbhajan has four. Chennai are crumbling here. Lovely topspinner, bravely landed up and Ashwin took up the challenge, jumping out and looking to smite it over long on. He did not get a very good connection though, and looped it into Pollard's hands at long-on.

almost a run out, Ashwin whips straight to midwicket and runs down the track. Badri sends him back and he has to dive in ...

Ashwin comes out. He can bat ...

W
Harbhajan to Morkel, OUT

Bhajji has nailed Morkel, and surely Mumbai have sealed it now. Harbhajan was looking to get it as flat and fast and straight as he could. It's a smart strategy in these end overs. Morkel went down on a knee and looked to dump him over cow corner. He swing hard, but the ball slipped through too quickly for him and clattered into off stump. Harbhajan's bowled superbly today.

Three overs to go. Expect Malinga and Harbhajan to bowl two of those. Munaf has one more too. Nechim has two. Here's Harbhajan round the wicket.

Morkel moves away, Pollard wisely follows him and restricts him to a glance to short fine leg. No-ball. Only three fielders inside the 30-yard circle. Ragged from Mumbai.
