Hall to play for Dolphins

Andrew Hall, the South African allrounder, will play for the Dolphins next season, KwaZulu-Natal announced on Monday.

Graham Ford, Hall's coach at Kent, where he is currently an overseas player, will also be making the move to the Dolphin camp.

"I think the two of them have developed a good relationship in England, and of course Graham has a history of helping players to further their careers at international level," the KwaZulu-Natal playing affairs manager Jay Naidoo told SuperCricket.

Ford is keen to continue working with Hall: "He is a general allrounder who will add depth to the Dolphins squad and will pass on his experience to the younger players in the squad."

Hall, who averaged 38.42 with the bat and 25.7 with the ball for Kent last season, has played for the Lions in South African domestic cricket since he made his debut in 1995-96.

His surprise move to the Dolphins is an indication that the team may be looking at him as a replacement for Lance Klusener, the former South African allrounder.

While the Dolphins topped the points table in the SuperSport series, South Africa's first-class competition, the Lions were fourth, with Hall having played only one match for them in the season.
