Deposed Australian One Day player Matthew Hayden will spearhead the XXXX Queensland Bulls in their Pura Cup clash with the Southern Redbacks at the Gabba starting Friday.
The Queensland selectors this afternoon named Hayden in the Bulls line-up following his omission this morning from the Australian One Day team for the remainder of the VB Series.
Hayden replaces Clinton Perren in the Bulls team, with opener Jerry Cassell expected to drop back down the order to bat at the number four position in place of Perren.
Hayden played the first two Pura Cup matches of the summer, scoring 143 against the Western Warriors and 147 against the Victorian Bushrangers before the start of the Orange Test series.
The selectors have also bracketed pace bowler Michael Kasprowicz (hamstring) with rookie quick Damien Mackenzie, who made his first class debut in the outright loss to Tasmania in Hobart last week.
Kasprowicz will be required to prove his fitness after missing the Tigers game.
