131kmh, too full outside off and he slices that over the point boundary to seal a remarkable four-wicket win for Namibia!
Berrington: Disappointing day for us, we were about 20-30 runs short and pretty hard to recover after the first couple of overs. Credit to Namibia for bowling so well early on. At that stage (after the collapse) we just needed a partnership. Matthew Cross played well but unfortunately we didn't get it going for long. It was good we had a game quickly after that Afghanistan loss, we didn't have too much time to think about it. We've got a few days to reflect and recover, one of our strengths is to stick together. We have to wait and see on Coetzer's injury.
Erasmus: Delighted to get another World Cup win, we were emotional coming from the first group and we managed to put in another good performance. I guess that's my normal face (not smiling much). We'll be taking some good momentum and energy into the other games. We speak more beforehand than try and speak during the game (innings break), with that score we had a clear gameplan and luckily with two partnerships we got over the line. Ruben sets high standards for himself, he hadn't quite hit the straps earlier. But today he did and he started off well for us to throw the first punch.
Trumpelmann the Player of the Match: Good result and hopefully we can get a few more. Luckily it went my way today. The victory is for the team and it's massive for us.
9.34pm That's all we have today from Abu Dhabi then, brought to you by me, Vishal Dikshit, and Peter Della Penna. Do join us tomorrow for Australia vs Sri Lanka. Until then, it's goodbye and good luck. Stay safe, everyone.
AlistairDiamond: "Namibia are now higher in the points table than both New Zealand and India. That's a first, enjoy it while you can!"
Dipanjan Show: "Namibia has defeated three European Teams in a row now!"
9.18pm Scotland had a great run in the first round, Namibia stunned a few teams too and when these two meet in the Super 12s, Namibia emerge as the winners again. They have smiles all around in the dugout, on the field, and everywhere their fans are. It was all started by Trumpelmann on the first four balls of the match, followed by the slower balls in the death over, and even though they wobbled a bit towards 110, they got there comfortably thanks to Smit, who stayed unbeaten. What a World Cup they are having...
Just one required and Namibia still have Smit there. Sharif has the ball
full on the off stump again, and he pushes it to cover this time
low full toss, pushed straight down to mid-off
Pikky Ya France surrounded by fielders
full toss is struck straight to midwicket! The fans were waiting, the ball is a full toss, he can slam it over the fielders in the circle, he can finish the game but all he does is swing it straight to the fielder
129kmh, low full toss as it's another attempted yorker and Smit calls for one as it's gone wide of mid-on
The field comes up, two required now
but he goes along the ground, it's timed to perfection, caressed all along the ground and it's almost all over for Scotland. Full with width and Smit creams the drive through cover
Just a six away? Will he go for it? Don't think so
the low full toss is bunted down, just over the bowler's leap for a quick single
Smit and Frylinck are looking calm in the mid-pitch conversation. Brad Wheal comes back for the 19th. Seven needed off 12, Frylinck on strike
much wider to end the over and he cuts to deep point to keep strike
skids towards the batter from outside off, he slap-pulls it to midwicket
Left-handed Frylinck, slip in place
he charges again, gets a leading edge and he's caught at short third man! Is there another twist left? This is smart and confident bowling. After the six, he doesn't change the field and bowls one around leg which isn't full enough for a swing down the ground. But Wiese goes after it and it's a comfortable catch for short third man
strikes him on the pad but outside leg, can't get it away
Just eight more now
mid-off can go back all he wants because Wiese charges down and hammers that well over the long-off boundary, over a few people for a big six!
stays back and punches the ball to cover
More spin, Leask into the attack. Long on is deep but mid off is in
Excellent over and spell, just three singles from that
he sizes up for the big shot by backing away, swings big as well but the ball misses the bat and even the leg stump by a whisker! Teasing length on leg stump, slow through the air, and just missed the stumps
nice and straight on off, he defends it back
Hang on, a slip comes in and there are about six in the 30-yard circle to tempt the batter to go over the top
wide of the crease and into the pads, slower through the air, and he's struck outside leg
hint of width and Wiese punches it off the back foot to deep point
into the stumps again and he gets a thick inside edge to leg
Deep midwicket comes in
full and into the batter from wide of the crease, Wiese pushes it down to long-on
What now for Scotland? Mark Watt from around the wicket
Ali Raza: "This is some outstanding comeback to cricket by Namibia. The players are showing they are extreme capable. Fighting till end. Fabulous"
turning in slightly, pushes it to mid-on
