Dhaka won the four-day National League title despite a rousing performance from Nazimuddin for Chittagong Division. Nazimuddin, the 19-year-old right-hand batsman, scored 82 in a second-innings score of 213 in addition to a century in the first dig. Yet, it was not enough for Chittagong to keep Dhaka away from title glory.
Chittagong were set a target of 279 for victory, but could only reach 213 for 4 and the drawn match meant that each team picked up 3 points from this penultimate round match. The three points Dhaka picked up ensured that they retained their National League title.
Dhaka, who reached 41 points, were comfortably ahead of nearest-rivals Rajshahi, who have 34 points to their credit. This gap renders the still-to-come last round purely academic.
