Madhavan to summon more cricketers for inquiry
The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), AC
Muthiah said in Chennai on Thursday that the Board's Anti-Corruption
Commissioner K Madhavan would summon more cricketers to appear before
the commission in connection with the match fixing inquiry.
Speaking to reporters after the Board's disciplinary committee had
exonerated Nikhil Chopra, Muthiah said that there still existed some
grey areas in the inquiry, including the Ahmedabad Test against New
Zealand in 1999 where India did not impose a follow-on despite being
in a position to do so.
Muthiah said "Madhavan wants to have some more people summoned as
there are some grey areas, and after the follow up is done, he would
submit his report before January 31." Muthiah added that the Working
Committee would meet in February to take a decision on the issue.
