timber! Clark seals it in style with a yorker. Aimed at middle stump, Sreesanth gives room to slog, he swings and the ball hits the base of middle stump and sends it back a few yards
Another clinical display by Australia as they win by 47 runs and lead the series 2-0 with four more to play. In the end India's batting card was the story of one man - Yuvraj Singh. His 121 went in vain primarily because the others didn't support him for long periods. Tendulkar and Dhoni gave India hope but perished as the asking rate increased.
The game was virtually lost when Australia had the home side on the mat at 13 for 3 and to make matters worse, runs were hard to come by. It was a collective perfomance from the bowlers, with Brad Hogg and Brett Lee taking three wickets apiece. They always have a way of clawing back after taking a bit of stick early on and that's what seperates a good team from a champion team.
All three games have followed a familiar pattern - Australia bat first and pile it on, India just can't make it. Sounds rather boring, frankly speaking. What we need is a contest and playing on batting wickets isn't helping. One would hope that the playing surfaces in the remaining games offer something for the bowlers.
That's it from us today. This is Kanishkaa Balachandran signing off. Jamie Alter says goodbye too. Join us for the 4th match in Chandigarh on October 8. Cheers.
Btw, Andrew Symonds is the Man of the Match for his 89.
Clark slips in a yorker on middle and leg, Sreesanth digs it out back to him
fullish on middle stump, Harbhajan steps forward and digs it out to long-on
slower ball, short of a length as well, Sreesanth charges down but doesn't even get close to the ball as he swings wildly, Gilchrist fumbles and the ball deflects off his glove to third man
tucked to the on side, harbhajan can't find the gap
fuller in length, Sreesanth gets to the pitch of the ball and pushes firmly down to long-off
tossed up outside off, Sreesanth goes for the slog sweep, the ball hits him on the thigh and Hogg appeals
flighted outside off, driven down to long-off
low full toss, slammed back to Hogg as it nearly carries to him on the full
down leg side, wide called
fuller and outside off, Sreesanth swings and misses
another ball on the channel outside off, Sreesanth pokes his bat at it and the ball shapes away
Dot balls are not helping India
good length outside off, shaping away, Sreesanth is beaten
tucked off the hips to fine leg, leg byes called
Johnson loses his line and sends that one wide outside off, Harbhajan stretches out to chase that but it was too wide
Johnson goes over the wicket but it doesn't help as Harbhajan clips it off his hips over deep midwicket and brings up a four to follow the six
round the wicket, Johnson lands it short and Harbhajan backs away and flat bats it over long-off, welcome boundary for India
wrong 'un, lands on a good length on off stump, Sreesanth picks the turn and fends it to the off side
full, on off stump, defended quietly on the front foot
