Around fifty donors, mostly cricketers, donated blood yesterday in a
programme organised by the Cricketers' Forum in co-operation with
Shandhani at the National Sports Council (NSC) conference room. This
was an expression of their support and compassion for the
flood-affected people.
Apart from the blood donation, the forum, led by former national
captain Roquibul Hassan, also handed over 500 kgs of rice and other
food grains to ASM Ali Kabir, the member-secretary of the Krirangan
Tran Committee, as part of their contribution for those distressed due
to the devastating flood.
Lt Gen Mahbubur Rahman (retd), president of Bangladesh Olympic
Association (BOA), was present on the occasion.
