The deadline for media accreditation applications for media planning to attend the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup 2006 in Sri Lanka is five days away.
The deadline for applications is Saturday 10 December.

The tournament runs from 5 to 19 February at five venues in Colombo, four of which have staged Test match cricket.

If you are having difficulty in meeting the deadline for applications but still wish to be considered for media accreditation, it is essential you contact either ICC media manager Brian Murgatroyd or Mr Samantha Algama at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) as soon as possible to make them aware of your situation. Their contact details can be found towards the end of this media release.

The application form and full terms and conditions, together with the latest information on the tournament, are available on the ICC website at:

https://www.icc-cricket.com/icc/events/u19worldcup/

International applicants

  • Visit: https://www.icc-cricket.com/icc/events/u19worldcup/ to download the accreditation application and terms and conditions forms.
  • After completing the relevant sections, please sign both the accreditation application and terms and conditions forms and attach two passport-sized colour photos.
  • Applicants should ensure their name is written clearly on the back of both photos.
  • All applications for accreditation must include both a supporting letter from an employer and the signed terms and conditions form together with the completed accreditation form.
  • Send the forms, supporting letter and photos directly to Rushmans (address on the application form).
  • All applications must be received by Rushmans not later than 10 December 2005.

You will need to have Acrobat Reader to open both the application and terms and conditions forms. This can be downloaded for free if you do not have it at: https://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

If you are having problems accessing the form, please contact Sheila Razdan at the ICC (Tel: +971 4 368 8088, ext 115, email: sheila.razdan@icc-cricket.com) and she will be able to email or fax it to you.

Sri Lanka applicants

  • The accreditation form is identical to the international one but the process will be coordinated by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). Forms should be returned directly to Mr Shammi Algama at SLC with the same 10 December 2005 deadline applying.
  • Please note that, in common with international media, Sri Lanka-based applicants are also required to submit a supporting letter from an employer and a signed copy of the terms and conditions when returning an application.

Sri Lanka-based media with queries concerning the tournament can contact Mr Algama at SLC in Colombo (u19wcup@srilankacricket.lk) or by `phone on +94 11 2681601/2/3/4 or +94 777 33 11 66.
