Australia fast bowler, Shaun Tait, has been ruled out of the Johnnie Walker Super Series due to an injured right shoulder.
New South Welshman, Stuart Clark, who was called into the Australian squad during the recent Ashes series as cover for the injured Glenn McGrath, has again been selected, this time as Tait's replacement.
Tait experienced pain whilst bowling for club South Australian club side, Sturt, on Saturday, and again while training at Telstra Dome this morning.
Diagnostic scans and a review by specialist Greg Hoy this afternoon, revealed Tait has torn cartilage in the shoulder and is expected to undergo surgery to repair the problem later in the week.
Cricket Australia's medical staff anticipate that he will be sidelined for a minimum of three months.
Tait is the second Australian player to be ruled out of the Johnnie Walker Super Series today, with Brad Hogg returning to Perth to have surgery on an injured left knee.
