Intikhab likely to be named team coach

Islamabad, Dec 15: Former captain Intikhab Alam is likely to be appointed coach of the Pakistan cricket team for the tour of Australia, highly placed sources said.

Sources, requesting not to be identified, said Lt-Gen Tauqir Zia met Intikhab Alam in Lahore on Wednesday. "But the official announcement is expected to be made on Saturday when the PCB chairman meets team manager Yawar Saeed in Islamabad," sources told Dawn.

Intikhab Alam is the longest serving coach of the Pakistan team. His last tenure with the team was about three years ago.
