Orissa won a truncated match by 39 runs after the Duckworth-Lewis rule was applied. After winning the toss and choosing to bat Orissa began badle, slumping to 44 for 3. Then Behera and Jayachandra, batting at No. 5 and No. 6, shored up the innings, pushing the score to 267. Jharkhand 198 for 4 (Vardhan 60) beat Tripura 192 for 8 by 6 wickets
Scorecard
Shankar Rao's four-wicket haul restricted Tripura to 192 and helped Jharkhand cruise to a comfortable victory in the league phase of the Ranji one-day tournament in Kolkata. Choosing to bat first, Tripura lost wickets at regular intervals and though many batsmen got off to starts, none went on to a big score. Rao, the medium pacer, conceded 53 in his ten overs but pegged Tripura back by striking frequently. Mahesh Vardhan launched the reply with a fine 60 and Jharkhand eventually won with nine overs to spare.
Orissa 219 for 2 (Das 91, Biswal 90*) beat Assam 218 for 7 (Ghosh 59*)
Scorecard
Shiv Sundar Das and Subit Biswal produced contrasting 90s and steered Orissa to a comfortable win over Assam at Kolkata. Chasing 219, Orissa lost Biswa Mohapatra in the third ball of the innings but Das and Biswal added 143 in a composed manner and took Orissa close. Das smashed 91 in 90 balls while Biswal was more sedate in his 138-ball knock as Orissa triumphed with 4.3 overs to spare.

Bengal 294 for 6 (Gavaskar 62, Gandhi 52, Sanyal 51) beat Assam 226 (Saravanan 95) by 68 runs
Scorecard
A solid batting performance by Bengal enabled them to romp to a 68-run win against Assam at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Four of their top five made more than 40, with Rohan Gavaskar, Debang Gandhi and Sanjib Sanyal all notching half-centuries, as Bengal posted an imposing 294 for 6. In response, Assam's effort was largely a one-man show - Sathiamoorty Saravanan scored 95 off just 103 balls, but in the absence of support, Assam could only muster 226, thus conceding a bonus point. The win put Bengal on top of the East Zone league with 12 points from three games, while Assam have just one point from two matches.
Orissa 350 for 6 (Mohapatra 145, Das 101, Jayachandra 52) beat Tripura 233 for 7 (Manoj 75, Prasanna 72) by 117 runs
Scorecard
A 239-run opening stand between Biswa Mohapatra and Shib Sunder Das destroyed Tripura and allowed Orissa to thrash them by 117 runs in the Jadhavpur University Campus ground in Kolkata. Mohapatra (145) and Das (101) pummelled the bowlers, getting their runs at more than seven an over. The rate dropped slightly after they were out, but Orissa still got to 350. Tripura were never in the hunt, and couldn't even manage the 280 they needed to avoid conceding the bonus point.

But that wasn't enough as Arindam Das and Gandhi neatly tucked into the run-chase with a 154-run stand and Bengal eventually won with 12.2 overs to spare.
