KARACHI, Aug 28: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) objected to the
addition of two players in the training camp and refused to
acknowledge them until late in the evening on Friday.
The two players, Saeed Azad and Farhan Adil, were included in the
training camp by chairman of selectors Wasim Bari. They had reached
Lahore late Thursday evening.
However, upon their arrival at the Qadhafi Stadium on Friday morning,
PCB secretary Waqar Ahmad questioned their arrival and told them to
return to Karachi.
The PCB secretary also told the players that the board has not been
informed of the addition and there was no need for adding to the
tally of 25 players already in the camp.
However, the two players were allowed to join the camp after Wasim
Bari intervened and requested the cricket board to give them the
facilities other camp players were getting.
The duo, who were earlier asked to join the Commonwealth Games camp,
were later included among the Sahara Cup probables.
