Faisal Iqbal, the 28-year-old batsman, has been named captain of the Pakistan A team for the tour of West Indies next month. He last played for Pakistan in the infamous Sydney Test against Australia at the start of the year, and leads a side with very little international experience. Wicketkeeper Sarfraz Nawaz and opener Khurram Manzoor are the only others in the 15-man squad to have represented Pakistan in more than one match.
Pakistan A take on West Indies A in two Twenty20s, three one-day matches and two four-day games in a series that starts on November 3.
Squad: Khurram Manzoor, Umair Khan, Abid Ali, Faisal Iqbal (capt), Aamer Sajjad, Naveed Yasin, Hammad Azam, Yasir Shah, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Zulfiqar Babar, Junaid Khan, Anwar Ali, Tabish Khan, Mohammad Rameez, Shan Masood
